LOCAL FESTIVITIES
Horses play the leading role in all popular fiestas that are held throughout the Minorcan summer. From June to September, horses and their riders, dressed in mainly black and white and decorated with ribbons, embroidery and multi-coloured carnations, relive each year a ritual that has its origins in the beginning of the 14th century.
SHOPPING
Minorca has an important footwear industry spread in different places of the Island (Alaior, Ferreries, Ciutadella) and the production of farmhouse cheese with a denomination of origin has a considerable weight as well.
GASTRONOMY
Minorcan cuisine is basically Mediterranean. Because of its insularity condition we are surrounded by water and that makes that we enjoy a great variety of fresh fish and seefood. Most of the Restaurants of the Island have on their menus a great assortment of our typical fishes.
